Im talking HIP HOP. Not this stuff you here on the radio. In my opinion i would have to say, Talib Kweli, Common, Mos Def, Jurrasic 5, Nas. Who else do you believe belongs on this list? Or who do you think should be taken off? And can you tell me why what you here on your normal "hip hop" radio station is whats called hip hop? I believe that is rap.If you have a Young in your name, your not hip hop. If all you mainly rap about is violent rhymes, degrading women, or bragging about how rich you are then you are not hip hop.So many rappers now days claim to be bringing hip hop back. When Nas said hip hop is dead, Lil Wayne took offense to that claiming he was bringing it back. Lil Wayne is not hip hop either. Now dont get me wrong, i do listen to these rappers who claim to be hip hop, but i listen for entertainment or to hear what they have to say.
So i would like to hear your comments on this.
Who do you believe is true hip hop?
Hands down the ones you listed with the exception of Jurassic 5 because I have not heard their music are HIP HOP. What they say is so prolific. And I have to put TUPAC in there. HE had a lot to say and it is just a shame that he was cut short, In his prime.
Reply:I would add Bone Thugs N Harmony to the list, they changed the game they also keep it real not just rappin bout i got this many chains, money, women etc. they rap about daily things that are happening to them or people they knew....by changing the game u got people trying to sound like em rap as fast as them etc. Also 2Pac what can I say bout 'Pac he was the greatest in my point of view!!!

sure, not all these rappers and mc's have the best message but they do have skill. I'm beginning to get very tired hearing how good Lil Wayne or Ludacris is. They're overrated. I like Jurassic 5 too. Although they're somewhat mainstream, they have good talent. That's what I want. Haven't heard the radio in along time(that's very good thing) but every now and then I hear someone with loud music and some fake a s s rappers who claim to be this and that. It's BOOORING. Reason why you don't hear other rappers on the radio station is because the big record labels love the radio. Brings in cash. Think about it. If you ever heard Immortal Technique on the radio then they must have tried to censor his views. Everyone has they're own perspective of what true hip-hop is. I'd just say it's staying true to old school school hip-hop, doing it for love of hip-hop, or doing it to expose something. Hop-hop is a movement, don't forget that.
Reply:I completely agree with you. Listening to the radio sickens me sometimes because its full of played out garbage. Your list is pretty decent but I would add Styles P, Lupe Fiasco, Papoose and Beanie Sigel to make it complete. Lyrically Lupe is a monster. You've got some really good insight hip hop-wise. Its good to see someone out there actually knows what they are talking about.
Reply:NAS is the best. hands down.

Reply:i agree. i think if you have lil in your name you aint hiphop. if you like real hiphop you should check out the Definitive jux label and Rhymesayers label. slug from Atmosphere runs the Rhymesayers label and Atmospheres **** is dope, check out the God Loves Ugly cd by them. This guy El-p runs the Definitive jux label in NYC. He raps, produces and runs the label, thats talent right thier. his new cd i'll sleep when your dead is pretty dope. Eyedea and abilities are dope too thier on Rhymesayers. Abilities is the dj and he's is fan ******* tastic. Eyedea is the mc and one of the best battle rappers out thier, and thats no joke. go on Youtube and type in Eyedea and Slug on the morning show. they do this tight back and forth freestyle thats dope. but yea those two crews got alot of good artist on thier labels. worth checking out. o yeah also Eyedea won the blaze battles on HBO and was offered a 6 figure deal by puff daddy, which turned down with a middle finger. HIPHOP!!!

Bob made a list of some REAL EMCEES,who at some point in their career impressed bob with RAW SKILLS, some thing pop ******* ont he radio today cannot even dream about having.
Its funny you bring up lil wayne, lil wayne makes bob so angry that ****** glorifys gang violence, something bob cannot stand and his "freestyles" arnt even ******* freestyles, they are rehearsed and use lines from his god damn albums or he bites other peoples lines.
Lil wayne is bob's definition of a typical pop ******, claims to be the best, acts like they in the hip hop scene, fan base made up entirely of white people and little kids, acts like they in a gang, says lines from albums then calls it a freestyle and your typical pop retard lyrics.
