Why is Hip Hop being blamed again, this time for Michael Vick 's dogfighting case?

Yesterday I heard two men, one from the Detroit Free Press ad the other from the Humane society say that the "Hip Hop Culture" is the reason for Vick being involved in dogfighting. I have listened to Hip Hop for all sixteen years of my life and I have never heard Snoop, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, or any of the other rappers that people complain about being involved in dogfighting, Nor has anyone in my black Hip Hop listening family ever been involved in dogfighting. It seems like every time something goes wrong in society, its Hip Hop's fought instead of parents stepping u an taking responsibility for their own children.

Why is Hip Hop being blamed again, this time for Michael Vick 's dogfighting case?
As long as Hip Hop keeps up with the violent lyrics and crude talk they are going to be blamed for everything that is going wrong in our culture. The general disrespect they show for women is not helping their cause either. When you constantly refer to women as b******* and h*** it shows a huge disrespect for the female gender. I always wonder who gave birth to these guys? Would they want someone talking to their mother or sister this way? Of course talking about shooting people is not a good thing either. The violence they sing about they generally live too. This gangster stuff is so over they need to move on.
Reply:People are always looking for a scapegoat. For whatever reason or another when a young black person who's successful screws up, somehow Hip Hop is blamed. I can't understand it. 32 year old black male, married with 2 sons, who has been listening to Rap, Hip Hop and whatever else it's been called since like 1980 lol and it has never influenced me to do anything besides sing along with the song. It's ridiculous! Vick screwed up and that had nothing to do with Hip Hop, that's the bottom line.
