arrite, so nas says hip hop is dead. i love nas, but is he right? is hip hop dead?
Artists like chingy, dem franchize boys, mims, D4L, and others look like there spelling out the downfall of real hip hop as we know it. we just dont have those good artists any more like Pac, Biggie, Eazy E, (r.i.p.), Dre, and BIg L. it looks like all these new artists on the scene rap about a bunch of crap and the songs become hits...granted there ARE still good artists out there to listen to, but not like back in the day...
is hip hop dead???????????/
Hip Hop is dead...?
Okay so in my opinion people are missing the point Hip hop is not just the music it is a culture that involves the style of dress, to slang, to music and a whole swagger. Hip hop has emerged to become a great force today involving many cultures. Hip hop has so many elements. and there are many new advancements being made in hip hop everyday. now Rap music in my opinion is going through a rough patch there are alot of money hungry people out there that consider themselves rappers that make crap and call it music. I dont think that it is dead but I do think that it should be cleaned up alot. and once people stop buying into alot of the bull I think Rap music will clean up nicely.
Reply:hell naw it ain't dead some songs don't got no purpose but don't ruin it 4 the other real mc's like t.i. %26amp; etc.
Reply:No Eminem is mudering VERY SLOOOOOOOOOWLY it he dosent even rap right honestly he never should've picked it up Lil eazy e banging right so's the game ice t dre and snoop but i still i agree with the guy above me it'd be good if they got there heart back
Reply:It's not dead but it's not nearly the same. There's no goods songs coming out and there isn't any new rappers taking over the role of a guy like Tupac. All these guys rap about is pimp cups and diamonds in their mouths. It's stupid and nobody wants to hear it.Hip hop isn't dead but it's not gonna be what's main stream anymore.Rock bands liek fall out boy and My Chemical romance have taken over that role for the past year and in the future.Every day on MTV they have 1 maybe 2 rap songs on the top 10 countdown and they are bad.Hurricane Chris ay bay bay???? What is that!!!!
Reply:hip hop isnt dead but it's on life support
Reply:all most. but that new Fab is hot. I think he can bring it back, If people would listen and stop being so brain washed.
Reply:i don't think that hip hop is dead just maybe what people want to hear is something they can dance to and not have to think. and that is what groups like D4L give us. just remember it could all change tomorrow.
Reply:hiphop is not dead and it will never die
the radio and tv platform has always been corny
MC's have been hating on that for a loooong time
and the internet/computer has every donkey in the world pretending to be a rapper
hiphop is not dead and there is still a ton of good albums being made
you won't likely see them in any local store but they exist
if you like eminem, check out Cage even though Cage is a million times better, he may be a good white rapper
mr lif always makes good albums
i could probably go on forever
the music industry is just stupid because the shareholders are greedy and they try to create artists and push the same sound so you just can't count on the mainstream to supply you with any decent artists anymore
Reply:well according to him its is
Reply:hiphop isnt about whether an artist is good or not, hiphop is a culture its something you live, cultures change every time, like people shouldnt have expected hiphop to stay the same, especially with a new genration on the rise, the south for instance emerged and took over hiphop because, up north rappers didnt carry tradition and keep the throne theirs, but people still blame the south for no reason, so my answer is no hiphop isnt dead, because for it to be dead that would mean no more rap music, or hiphop music period, hiphop just took a turn in another direction, and people from back then cant understand that the south have their own way of making music and instead of accepting they cause problems by taking shots and name calling, but honestly i think hiphop is alive, just transformed into something else.
Reply:hip hop kickin it wit Biggie down in da Hell, gittin all crunkd up n chillin wit Satan's baby's mama.
Reply:"hiphop isnt about whether an artist is good or not"
hahah, nice.
Reply:hip hop isnt dead it might get to the point if some of there rappers keep makin songs bout slappin ya b**** up n dumba** **** like that instad of the real s*it that went dont n their life n how they worked it out and i think rap wouldnt be nearly what its is today if tupac was here but hip hop aint dead its just lost its heart n the heart is one of the main parts of hip hop so its dying slowyly but its dyin.
Reply:No it's not dead... It's just malnourished... If people just listened to it maybe they would understand why people listened to it in the first place.
Reply:Heck yea hip -hop is dead it's talkin' bout hoes and drugs and kids b callin' dey moms hoes and stuff
Reply:yea hip hop is dead, and oh yea u forgot to mention huey and yung joc. maybe rakim's the 7th seal and dr. dre's detox will resserect it
Reply:Hip hop is definitely not dead. Even thought there are a lot of weak rappers out right now like young joc , dj unk, for example. There is still a lot of real rappers like jay, wayne, tip, fab, common, mos def, and talib kweli . so no hip hop is not dead. i see where nas was coimg from when he said hip hop is dead. because alot of people clam that they are so hip hop but their not. a lot of pepole who i go to school with think that they are so hip hop just because they watch bet, have a lil wayne cd, and they saw Boys in the hood, that does not make you hip hop.
Reply:hip hop wil nnnnnnneeeeeeevvvveeeeeerrrrrr die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:no i do not think so
Reply:really. i hope it stays dead. no offense.
