Does hip hop still have a future?

I remember when hip hop was about having fun and battling skills with one another on the microphone, now its all gangsta rap, put two slugs dead in that fools chest, or big booty, and so much profanity. Can we ever go back to the real essence of what hip hop use to be or is this it? Why do you need to be shot 9 times to make it in the hip hop business? Why is this business so dangerous with Biggy and Tupac being shot over some bs, what has hip hop come to these days? What do you think?

there are no more biggies and 2pacs but there are a lot of nice young artists. Its not getting the coverage it once had since there are alot of haters to the game who listen to crap like rock. It has been getting less dangerous since the murder rap is dying down.
Reply:its just like youve said. its dead. its become to dangerous anymore. i used to live in santa cruz. people there live by it. but maybe itll come back. i remember rap in the 90's. it was nothing compared to what it is now. it was a lot better then. now its a bunch of fags shooting people. im not a hater on rap, but it sucks now. i want to hear 80's and 90's rap. some old school **** man.

Gym Class Heroes, they have a cool sound and rap about other crap rather than sex, drugs, and shooting each other, or Jurassic 5. But I guess its what sound you like.
