Reply:Uh... I beg to differ. Hip Hop will never die. Hip Hop is a state of mind... Hip Hop is a culture.

As for Abercombie, skulls and bones, you name it, people can wear whatever they want to wear. Clothes don't make Hip Hop.

As for rap.... brutha do you follow Mos Def? The Roots? Talib Kweli? Ang 13? M1 aka Mutulu Olubala? and the list goes on to include Spoken Word, Dance, Art, etc....

Hip Hop isn't just about rap. What you hear on mainstream radio is mostly artists or frontmen for white record execs. trying to hold down a few fans who are willing to Pop Lock %26amp; Drop it and Lean wit it Rock wit it...

I feel you on mainstream rap lyrics... This Is Why I'm Hot....

If you want to find true Hip Hop, trust me, you don't have to go far. If you are really feel'n it, then just check your own vibe and then your there. Am I dead? Naw... Cause I AM HIP HOP!
Reply:I know what you mean, but hip-hop isn't dead, listen to some Canadian hip-hop has social and spiritual meaning. You know, that stuff your talking about can't even be considered crap, let alone hip-hop.
Reply:what ever but i think you are worng, cause i listen to rap !

do you ???........

and do you know THE GAME,ya he sang a song about mc.dre, called one boold and which was a cool song,it ment a lot for me,cause mc.dre is from the 510 part of the bay area, and i am too so...i think that you are worng, and shoulder lean is jus a song to dance too or too go hyphy too,you know what i mean, thats why they say,go STUPID,DUM,and HYPHY in the bay area! you know what i mean !
Reply:Hip-Hop isn't dead. Hip-Hop is what you make it. Probably the first set of emcees thought hip-hop died when NWA came out. The 10 years from now the generation going to say, Man I miss Young Joc
Reply:yes I do agree finally someone who is on the same mine frame, hip hop isnt completely dead because we have some rappers that give it an oxygen tank, this sh!t thats out now is so stupid, what the f@ck is a d@mn grill and who would want to put it in their mouths, and if I hear one more song about a ****@ slappin a hoe, I`m going to personally slap them myselves. now I`m not racist but even the other races are "rocking" to it only because its stupid. back in the day you couldnt pay them to listen to hiphop, it was so strong we had movements going , it had meaning, and even policemen were scared, back in the day we stuck together we didnt have all of these beefs and chronic BS thats out now, the only true rappers I like are common, mosdef, talib kweli, the roots, red%26amp;meth and some of them barely come out anymore because its not all over tv unless, they throw some hoochies, money,a stupid catch phrase...and besides if you notice the songs have a repeated chorus kind of like brain washing, or subliminal messaging this whole sh!t is sick
Reply:I couldn't agree with you more man.I used to love the old stuff like tupac and biggie but this s hit sucks.I hate this stuff.I started listening to a lot of rock lately like My Chemical Romance and stuff and I have to say I love it.Rock is getting much bigger than rap now.
Reply:word 2 yo muthaz dogg! dats dat sheet i be talkin bout. i funna brake dem foos off wen i see dem bustas! i bust dem bitchs wit my gat an giv dem a shoulda lean hahahahaha. rat a tat tat bitchs. 2nd street crips aint funna take dat bowlshit. dey aint showin dey punkass faces in my hood. word homie
Reply:ok since when can't rappers where what they want? that's a stereo type in itself. why do they all have to look the same? as for the rest of your essay wtf? try english. i think all new rap sucks. what happend to pete rock and cl smooth. some common? run dmc? early rappers had talent this crap nowadays is just that. crap.
Reply:Rap is all about the beat, you can talk about almost anything in a song if you get a good beat. Same with rock though i haven't heard any good stuff lately except from Korn.
Reply:I wish hip hop was dead.

Rap is degrading. Most of it is about women, money, 'grillz', whores, stripping and boobs. It's disgusting. As are the videos.

Now, I respect Timbaland, and Ludacris(to an extent, for that one song 'Runaway Love') and Kanye West(for Jesus Walks). But otherwise.

I hate rap. And Hip Hop.
Reply:i agree with Night : i hate all rap and hip hop. to me, it's pretty much pointless.
Reply:I sort of feel I shouldn't justify this with a response, but a little knowledge for everyone. First of all, Common himself said that all rap today is rap. The problem is it has lost its social conscience and everyone in the game today is all about a buck - most probably know nothing of hip hop - rap, graffitti, DJing, braking. Yeah, agreed, it's gone downhill, but if you aren't aware of all the good rap out there, then you're spending way too much time listening to the radio. There is SO much good stuff out there that you have to look for. Credit to Binary Star, Common, Roots, MF Doom, Talib, Big L, and others. If you want to hear the good stuff, get on the Internet or to your local record store - forget the radio.
Reply:Thank you, thank you, thank you . . .
Reply:I don't really know what to say about this. I do respect a select few people from the hip-hop and rap community. I honestly think that this rap, hip-hop, and gangster music is going to die out completely in a couple of years; and I think its going to die worse than disco! Take a look as to how disco music also was completely immersed in popular culture, from that point it was just a matter of time before it died in a very ugly way in the early 80's.
Reply:I agree...rap literally has lost all meaning
