Original Hip Hop Is Dead?

What happen to hip hop? True Hip Hop?

d4l, dfb, soulja boy, flo rida, huey, crank squad, three 6 mafia and many more are to blame for the death of hip hop.

The only real hip hop i hear today is 50 cent, lil wayne, snoop dogg, t.i., nelly, lupe fiasco and many more are the only artist keeping hip hop alive?

What do you think is hip hop dead or not?

Original Hip Hop Is Dead?
hip hop has eveolved each generation...it happens and will happen again. IT ISN"T DEAD
Reply:It is dying. The beats (if any!) nowadays are just painful to listen too, back in the 80's %26amp; 90's there were good songs coming every week. Plus they had some sort of meessage (good, bad, funny, etc) but there was a meessage. Nowdays the only thing we get is the suburban crap that kanye west plays, Beyonce and her 200 hundred songs that sound the same and the sold out Jay Z. even Snoop nowdays is doing techno (listen to his last song...) In my opinion too many "lil"s and"young"s.

I think the last decent songs came out around 2003 or 2004.

There were so many great groups %26amp; songs back in the day here a few great Mc's

Reply:50 cent, lil wayne, snoop dogg, t.i., nelly, ?!??!?!

wow this is the most hypocritical question ive ever seen in my life...

YOU my friend are very confused and you need to pick up a common or talib kweli record to hear real hip hop...

i can tell by your question you ONLY listen to the radio...

explain to me how the helll 50 cent, lil wayne and snoop are real hip hop?

go listen to tribe called quest or de la soul and then base your question on that
Reply:Hip Hop is NOT dead but it is dying. 50 Cent is not a good example to use. He is a street hustle who found out what sells and exploits it to the fullest. 2Pac is NOT a fraud. He tried to make people aware of problems black people face and was did admit he himself was no angel.
Reply:Its not dead, many people say that because Nas said it throught his song "Hip-Hop is dead". Hip-Hop is asleep, people like soulja boy try to gather children attention because of his dance. Back then, Hip-hop was mostly attracted to adults due to Gangster rap have foul langauge and reference to drugs. Hip is not dead why? Because people like AZ, Styles P, Lupe Fiasco, Nas, Any of alternative rappers are trying to keep Hip-hop the way people loved it, Old Skool.
Reply:thanks bammccaw I never know their are still great artists out there
Reply:Over time music gains and loses popularity, evolves and changes, but it never dies. And you have to keep in mind that there's many artists that do try to keep the original sound of hip-hop alive, it's just that they are overshadowed by the people like Soulja Boy.
Reply:authentic hip hop ended in the late 80s. the fat boys and kid n play making movies marked the end of real new york hip hop. after that every one including tupac, lil wayne and 50 are all frauds. they're making pop music and not authentic hip hop.
Reply:It's definitely dyin, sad to say.

Even some great artists from back in the day are startin to sell out. I hope we can get hip hop back someday soon.
Reply:how the hell are 50 cent and lil wayne keeping hiphop alive?
Reply:I didn't think hip hop was dead until you credited Nelly, 50, and TI with keeping it alive.
Reply:yeah the original hip hop is defintely dead but its not all bcoz of these new guys.. the old skool hip hop that we all love is dead and its bcoz them artists arent makin anymore hits.. we cant just live on the old good stuff coz new artists are makin ther way up.. theyre gettin their fame coz thers no real competition like there was back in the 80s and 90s.. a new style has come out %26amp; i think we needa let go of the past %26amp; try stop criticizing the new dudes. dont get me wrong i love old skool more than this new shiit but theres no NEW old skool
Reply:tupac was not a fraud at all. a lot of his stuff was about things that matter. there was a lot of real hip hop still in the 90's and even today. its just not as publicized because people like the beats more than lyrics now. and the newer artist have trememndous beats w/lyrics that have no substance. but there are people like immortal technique and common who are very true to real hip hop. so no its not dead
Reply:It's not dead, its on life support and those garbage-a** rappers (along with Nelly and T.I.) are trying to pull the plug!
