Beat-boxing, deejayin, freestyling, and graffiti are the original elements of REAL hip-hop...i wasnt even born back then when they immortal lyrics "i sais a hip a hop a hip ahippty to da hip hip hop and it dont stop" were pounding out of peoples stereos, but i miss it...now...nowadays all u hear is leanin with it...snappin with it...since when has hip-hop become and excersice video?? i dont kno...wat happened...when did it happen?? where have the Talib Kwelis gone?? the Commons??? the real hip-hop artists...i wish i could be a doctor to bring it back...but..sadly im just another famliy member watchin famliy get killed...slowly but surely...do u think hip-hop still has a chance??

{HIP} (HOP) is DeAd!!!?
Hip Hop I am happy to say is very much alive. I discovered this a few years back that's when I discovered underground hip hop. In fact my favorite artist is Immortal Technique. It's still out there believe me. (just type in hip hop in the topic column and see what I mean...)
Reply:ye why not, dog lol
Reply:YeW StLoW DiS SoNg fRoM NaS!!!!!! ~lol~
Reply:I feel you, I believe it can be revived...thanks to nas, common, and the others that fit into "that" catagory...the other like the lean and rock..isn't hip hop to me...I think that stuff needs its own genre.
Reply:good observation, I think one of the main reasons hip-hop is dead is because it has lost the melody, listen to dr. dre or tupac, granted most of the music where all samples, but it had a melody, it was actually music, and their lyrics where smooth and usually said something, now it seems all rappers do is go into the studio, lay down a "kick-snare" and some retared loop and mumble a bunch of ignorant words that can't hardly be understood, hip-hop has lost the melody, the "soul" is gone
Reply:Not a chance unless the people demand it, the record companies will give the kids what ever they demand. But I think it's over, look at the rock of the 60's and 70's, people always state it was the best music around and then it's time was over.

I think the fact that it had it's time and was so revolutionary is what made it so special, music has to keep evolving or it will just be a bunch of repeats, But I agree were in a little bit of a dry spell and need something different.
