Hip Hop aint dead, its alive and well?

whether "Hip Hop is Dead" or not, seems to be the most talked about subject on here, let me start off by saying I dont think Hip Hop is Dead, i see some old heads and young heads alike sayin it is, and sometimes the reason is "age", cant relate or identify with todays music. If thats the case, i wonder why so many teens on here are more into 90's hip hop, i mean it comes from a different time that they may not necessarily be able to identify with but still like it. All Hip Hop isnt just what gets played on the radio, there is underground, hip hop isnt just limited to the united states, not only that, but its a culture, how can it die? Im not sayin the quality of the music is perfect, but i think some people would rather spend time cryin about "hip hop is dead" instead of appreciating some of the truly talent artists out there. let Soulja Boy, Mims, etc. get their 15 minutes of fame and be done with...Thats just my opinion

Im not really askin a question, but askin for yall's opinon

Hip Hop aint dead, its alive and well?
You're right hip hop ain't dead. There are still plenty of artist out there who are true to themselves and the music. Hip Hop can not die as long as we have the history, and the MC's who remember and continue to remind us of that good hip hop. In every genre you will have those few who will come out with gimmicks to make a quick buck and have some short term, and in some cases a long term fame, but eventually the listeners will get tired of it. Trends do not last forever, they eventually fade ready for another. Hip Hop will always have the trends, ad this one is lasting quite long but eventually it will go. There are so many artists out there that make good hip hop, it will be kind of hard for it to just DIE.

Nas just said Hip Hop is Dead to express how he feels about the direction hip hop has gone, and to call out those studio rappers. I think it was also said to make the true MC's step up their game and show people what they got.
Reply:I've only been saying this since I've been active on here Report It

Reply:HipHop is a culture. It won't die.

Rap will die pretty soon though. lol Report It

Reply:so TRUE..can't stand people crying hiphop is dead..its a different era time period..

old people wouldn't like hiphop now..but just like young people wouldn't know hiphop back than either..

just like u said: "i mean it comes from a different time that they may not necessarily be able to identify with but still like it. "

"age", cant relate or identify with todays music
Reply:Hip-Hop isnt dead. You jus have to look aroud for it. Either on the underground scene or artists pages that you know. The problem is mainstream america gets it twisted between hip-hop and rap. Rap is whats falling off. Not hip-hop. Nas jus used that title to sell some albums like how he sold out but w/e u gotta make a dollar right. Look at real hip-hop artists consistently putting out quality. Talib Kweli, Common, Mos Def, Dialated Peoples, amongst others. And im sorry but Kanye n 50 arent hip-hop at all my friends. They are definately POP
Reply:Hip Hop is not dead it's just changed. Just like everything else in life. I agree with you, people listen to the radio and say hip hop is dead. Most rap on the radio is garbage nowadays. But that's just the radio. Check some mix tapes and underground $#!T. Hip Hop is alive and well!
Reply:Mainstream Hip-Hop is more like Pop nowadays, and I would consider it dead, but you still have your underground Hip-Hop.

I'd say Hip-Hop is slowing dying, and now it's just retarded.
Reply:i agree wit ya. hip hop is not dead. its like a different aspect of it from ppll. i dunno. but now in our time now the hip hop coming out is stupid and changes everything. look at ****** lipgloss etc. anyways the real hip hop is old skool%26amp;underground(90s was cool look back at de la soul and a tribe called quest). they dont make em like dey used to. cept 4 my mennn kanye, common, talib, etccccccccccc. ya digg
Reply:too long to read
Reply:The Death of 2 pac and Biggie was the Turning point for hip hop. It has never been the same yet.......No Thanks to the help of suge knight...and southern rap......

Those 2 deaths opened the door for the southern rappers who were not big at the time and their influence helped change the direction of hip/rap
Reply:My opinion is that it is dead, except for Kanye. He's coo =D
Reply:Hip Hop is still alive and well.

There are just too much going on in the music industry that many people don't really pay attention to hip hop.
Reply:I think alot of the pioneers think it is dead. The biting was never used back in the day. EVERYTHING had to be original! I personally listen to more rock and country then anything, but I love todays hip hop. No matter what ppl say I need something to rock my hips too!!!
Reply:that's right, hip hop is more than music, it's a culture...Iv'e decided, that no matter how bad the stuff on the radio gets, even if the creation of hip hop music totally stops, We've still got our hip hop albums, and every time we spin one of those, we keep hip hop alive...
Reply:UK HIP-HOP= Klashnekoff, Skinnyman,Poisonous Poets

US Hip-Hop=Immortal Technique, Papoose, Kanye West

.
Reply:the trick is to let ppl think its dead to get rid of all the ppl who didnt care about it in the first place.
Reply:Uh yeah....Nas cares about album sales........he is the only highly respected lyracist of his era who isnt a boss.....

Jay is a boss

Dre is a boss

Snoop is a boss

Big was a boss

Pac was a boss

Nas still is ill but he sorta felt left out and made the statement to get controversy surrounding his album. Period.

Hip-hop can never die though because we can always do in vitro fertilization...and make like8 hip-hop babies.....oh we already have that.....so what are we trippin about with all these bastard kids running around.........Hip-hop can never die as long as they running free.......A Bay Bay....so dont hate it...just educate it.....
Reply:phukkin dead
Reply:Well, if it isn't dead then it should be...hopefully very soon
Reply:**** hip hop. LONG LIVE ROCK 'N' ROLL
