this whole 'hip hop is dead' movement is really startin to eat at me and its about time that somebody called it like it is so here goes: hip hop is not dead, new york hip hop is dead, anybody sayin hip hop is dead is most likely from new york and is really just hatin cuz ny aint been on top in *YEARS* therefore, they feel if it aint new york, it aint hip hop (which explains all the hate towards the south... texas in dis ******!) so to all my 'hip hop is dead' people... stop blamin the south for *YOUR* problems, if hip hop was really dead you would be doin somethin other than b itchin and moanin to save it-WOULDN'T YOU???

I think mainstream hip-hop is dead, but as far as underground hip-hop, and independent hip-hop, it's alive. I live here in florida, (17 years now) and all you hear on the radio is the same bad songs over and over again, and sometimes you here the same song within the same hour. Back in the '90s, mainstream music was actually good, but that's before you had fast-food, cars, and other advertisers trying to use it in commercials or whatever and not every rapper was doing the same thing.

The south is hot right now, but you need to check out some of the underground stuff artists from NY are putting out. New york is still representin like they are suppose too. hip hop was a way to inform the country how the shape of the ghettos are in shackles to unify peoples and start something
now we as people are not connected we dont care about eachother blaming this on hip hop no but it does have a part on the development of our communitys.
I was raised without a father figure music had a big influince on me. No matter what people say you pick up traits from you surrounding.
