i always wondered, only for the hip-hop white ppl. I see white ppl with a super loud system playing hip hop/rap. How do you stay updated on what cool to bang? Do you watch 106 %26amp; park top 10 to decide or look on the hip hop top 100 list on the internet. Or is it in your soul and you can truly feel it? Do you know what the artist is really talking about? Do you understand the lyrics? or do it have to have a cold beat for it to catch your curiosity? Or do you have a black friend and ask them what's most popular? Just curious. I'm black, i like hip hop but the music today i just cant get into. i only like back in the day hip-hop. Do you also like rock too or is it strictly hip hop? What made me ask this, These white girls that i worked with a few years back put me up on a song that was a true hit song and i didn't realize it until i actually listened to it. I ended up loving the song so much that i tore my car up banging it in my ride. i got a lil excited from the beat. LOL
Question for white ppl- only hip-hop fans?
Believe it or not, but I have two children, one a teenager and one is 4. They both like hip-hop, and I enjoy hip hop. I'm not a gangster, or whatever. And you don't have to be to like hip-hop. It's not something you train yourself to like, it just happens naturally. I don't like all hip-hop, but most. I listen to it on the radio all the time, CDs. Akon and T-Pain are my favorite. You don't have to watch BET, my oldest son loves BET, but I rarely ever watch it. Not because I don't like BET, I just don't like music videos much. But listen to some songs. You need to have rythm. My ringtone is "Bartender" by t-pain. If you saw me on the street, you would probably never think I listen to hip hop. I have surround sound in my cars, etc. It's just something that is natural. I honestly cant stand metal rock. Or most rock at all. But I listen to old school too.
Reply:I like all genres. I don't just limit myself to 1. To be able to like all genres means you have to understand what each one is trying to deliver to you. An example would be:
Rock delivers: party
Country delivers: good ole american living
Hip Hop delivers: sexuality, and street related issues
Heavy Metal delivers: anger and aggression
When you can learn what each genre delivers you can become more in tuned with its reasoning and then appreciate it regardless of your race.
Reply:I love all kind of music. Why does it matter what is the latest in the hip hop world...go with your gut!! Listen to what you like!!
